I admit it. I lost my RAW food, clean eating nutritional focus around Christmas. It started when one of our cherished clients brought all the trainers at Punch South Bend Christmas cookies (I’m talking DOZENS of cookies). After eating my way through the cookies, the holiday ham (OMG, gross!), and the other junk we had in our home around the holidays, I emerged from my sugar, meat, caffeine, and carbohydrate stupor to find that my ass had grown significantly by 2010. I don’t know why I do this to myself. I can go MONTHS without this crap touching my lips, and I progress to a place where I don’t even have cravings anymore, and then wham, a small indulgence sets me back. It’s so not worth it! So I’m back on my RAW food plan and I’m sticking with it. It’s easy, it’s fast, and I look and feel fabulous when I’m eating RAW. Below I’ve given you 5 great reasons to try a RAW food diet. Besides, some of you have already tried every diet trick, tip, supplement, pill, magic diet potion know to man, so why not try some sound nutrition for a change? Lol!

TURKISH GET-UP
 
Learn it, it can give you your life back. 
 
The Turkish get-up, ignored by many because of its complexity, is quite possibly the best routine you can do for yourself.  Used at Punch as an exercise and a screening routine, the Turkish get-up has the ability to surface latent deficiencies in movement and flexibility.  With insight into your kinematics our trainers are better able to plan a training program that will allow you to work past those deficiencies.
 
Learning the Turkish Get-up on your own, you’ll soon see where your problems are depending at which point during the movement you find difficulty.

EAT THIS
 
Zucchini Hummus
 
1 zucchini peeled and chopped
 
2 tbsp. raw tahini
 
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
 
1 clove crushed garlic (I use more)
 
¼ tsp. ground cumin
 
¼ tsp. paprika
 
¼ tsp. sea salt
 
Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Super easy! Use as a dip for your veggies. This also makes a great spread to use in a lettuce wrap. Simply spread a couple of romaine leaves with the hummus then pile on the veggies. Delicious!
