Kettlebells in Iraq
As it turns out, there are quite a few deployed troops using kettlebells in Iraq. Bobby Mathews is an active member of our online forum here at AOS and COL Mullins in a neighboring camp was able to make a kettlebell connection!
Hell’s Bells is the official kettlebell club at Camp Victory. Check out the fantastic email and photos below. The Hell’s Bells club also offers their T-Shirts to the public in their online store here:

Enjoy the photos, buy a shirt or three, and give a silent nod of respect to these brave men and women.

Mr. DiLuglio,
I am meeting with SFC Bobby Matthews who posted on the AOS website:
"Best Deployment Workout, 2/6/2007
Reviewer: Bobby Matthews (Camp Slayer , Iraq)
As a deployed soldier in Iraq, I have run the gammit of exercise programs. This may very well be the best! The workouts are brief, which is important when time is limited. They are intense. The exercises are adequately explained in the video portion. Yet another hit from Mr.DiLuglio."
Since seeing his post, I contacted SFC Matthews and we are taking our "Hell's Bells" KB club over to his place this Sunday. I would like to take some pics with him and send them your way with a report on
our training session together.
Quick run down for the deployed military. We are always looking for quick and efficient means to maintain our overall conditioning and fitness. I have been training with KBs for over a year now and I love them. As a competitive powerlifter, I find that KB training helps me in my active recovery from my heavy training sessions and assists with my speed and explosive power.
We use Anthony's AOS Providence circuit on Saturdays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we train heavier with emphasis on upper body for Tuesday and lower body on Thursday. It's funny when I tell the club that we are doing DiLuglio's AOS on Saturdays. You can hear the collective groan from the team because they know they are about to get smoked. The ones that don't show are razzed the rest of the day by the others.
I have enclosed a few pics of the Hell's Bell's Club. That's me playing with the BFR 3000.
Sincerely,
David
