Video of the week: answering your kettlebell questions 24/7

This week we're taking a little departure from the typical training video clip. Instead, we wanted to introduce all of you to our new and improved online forum. We devoted considerable effort to making the forum experience as easy and robust as possible.

We're not fans of typical internet forums that spawn nerdy "flame wars" and arguments and we've worked hard to create an environment that will hopefully stay relevant, useful, and mature. One difference you'll notice is that we ask all posters to use their real names (or first name last initial if you prefer) rather than handles like "badboy69" and "big_bad_comrade". Why does that matter? Well, people tend to behave in a more mature way when using their real name rather than some goofy screen-name. It helps to create an atmosphere more akin to speaking with a live human being in the real world.

You should also notice a refreshingly "open" atmosphere. We aren't trying to create a cult or clickish, exclusive inside group. There is no hero worship and people are encouraged to talk about any and all fitness products & companies... not just AOS products.

So, the next time a kettlebell or fitness question pops into your head... hop on over to our online forum and post it! If you are wondering, you can bet others are too. The forum is also your best place to get answers to questions related to our Minute of Strength videos (please use the forum... our email cup runneth over)! It's easy, fast, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Is fitness going back to school?
Have you noticed the the sudden disappearance of PE classes in American high schools? Have you noticed the epedimic of obesity emerging in American youth? I wonder if the two are connected?

It's time to get serious about student physical fitness. We would be happy to see ANY kind of fitness promoted in schools... but thanks to the recent work of several visionary teachers at Waltham High School (Massachusetts), it is clear that kettlebell training is a fantastic tool for the task.

Rick Vittum and John Bourque discovered kettlebell training several months ago and began working out with our Art of Strength DVDs. They loved the training and knew it would immediately resonate with their students. They were right. Students quickly fell in love with this fun new implement and gravitated to the gratifying full body workouts. Kettlebells proved so popular that a crowd of students quickly gathered around an impromptu schoolyard demonstration.

The Waltham faculty had never seen the students get this excited about any other kind of fitness training. A phone call later and Anthony DiLuglio had agreed to sponsor a kettlebell clinic to introduce more students to this kind of training. Here's a note of thanks from the Waltham Faculty:

Hi Anthony,
On behalf of our students and staff, we would like to thank you again for your time yesterday...We feel extremely fortunate to have a professional such as yourself who shares in our quest to help young people grow and thrive as athletes and more importantly as people...Your passion and dedication to training was evident in your presentation not only through your words but through the actions and enthusiasm of Chris... It was awesome to see the confidence and the work ethic you've instilled in him...We can only hope to have the same effect on all of our students at Waltham High...Thanks again and keep in touch.
