Minute of Strength #24

In this issue:

Anthony and Deb tie the knot

Anthony DiLuglio and Debra Lipof were married in Las Vegas on December 26, 2006. We are all thrilled for them and wish them the best. Lift your glasses in an AOS toast wherever you may be!

Massive changes to AOS online

Be sure to take a spin through our new website. Major parts of it are still under construction, so bear with us for the next couple weeks. This new site promises to bring even more easy-access to the best fitness training information on the web.

We know many of you are keenly interested in our free online videos.  We’ve re-launched the “videos of the week” in the first 4 issues of Minute of Strength with a new video player. It would be a HUGE help if each of you will:

  1. Watch the video in Minute of Strength #1.
  2. Vote on the quality of this video experience here.

Discussion Forums
We’ve received dozens of emails in the last year suggesting a customer discussion forum for the website. I’ve always resisted because these online forums often get filled with useless arguments and nerdy banter. The tipping point came when Anthony hit 2000 emails in his inbox! He simply can’t keep up. So, we are excited to offer up our community forum.

An internet forum is only as valuable as the information its users contribute. We are intent on maintaining a useful forum that promotes the mature exchange of fitness ideas and provides an arena for experienced “Strength Artists” to help out newcomers to AOS.

We don’t want to police this thing with a heavy hand and ask that you keep the discussions to fitness and AOS… plenty of other places on the web for politics, religion, and obscenity. In support of that idea, we ask that you use a “real name” when posting in the forum. I believe oddball screen names like “bad_dude_55” set up a level of anonymity that promote bad conduct from folks who’d never behave themselves that way in real life.

We’re asking for your help to get the forums kicked off right. Please register here and start posting today. We really appreciate your help in making this a worthwhile place with loads of solid questions and answers.

Product Reviews

Similarly, our new online store is up and running. It’s a little rough around the edges, but please note our new “reviews” feature. If you own or use any of our AOS products, please share your thoughts with a customer review. These reviews are often the first thing newcomers look at for unbiased product information.

Minute of technology
by Jeff Waters

Ever walk by a Brookstone in your local mall and see folks sitting on their goofy looking massage chairs with equally goofy looking expressions of relief? I’ve always thought those things were too gimmicky to take seriously. Boy was I wrong! One of my favorite Christmas gifts this year was the Homedics Quadroller. This device turns any chair into a fantastic masseuse.

I’ve been off my exercise schedule for a couple months now and vowed to start the year strong. After a layoff, several sets of swings can cause my lower back to seize up. On January 1, 2007, that happened… just as expected. Usually takes a week or so to work itself out. Not this year! I plopped down on my Quadroller and was amazed to find instant relief! All the muscle tightness evaporated after about 2 minutes on the “lower back” setting. This gadget works. Get one today and keep swinging!
