Our latest Punch Gym Licensee weekend wrapped up recently and we’ve got the picture to prove it.  The weekend’s events kicked off on Friday with everyone getting together for the meet and greet dinner.  All guests and their significant others joined Anthony and the other Art of Strength staffers and trainers for a great dinner and even better conversation  The next day, reserved for participants only, took everyone through every aspect of kettlebell training, from learning the routines themselves to all the "how to’s" of teaching the routines to others.  The day included lessons in proper technique, spotting and fixing bad form, Corrective Strategies, Authentic Strength training, circuit design and Ropes Gone Wild.  The following day was all business as we went through everything the future Punch Gym Owner needs to know about starting and running a successful establishment.
Here are just a few of the hundreds of photos taken of the weekend’s events.  For more shots head over to the registration page and while you’re there check out some of the upcoming dates to see when your next event will be.

here's what one participant had to say about the weekend event:

Dear Anthony, Staci and Dennis,
All the way home I have thought about how to thank you all and express what a tremendous pleasure it was to finally meet you. I've come to the conclusion that there is just no way to do it justice, at the same time knowing that I at least have to make an attempt.
First and foremost, thank you for making us all feel so welcome and so much a part of the PUNCH family. Though it doesn't show as much now, I am at heart a shy person, often opting to stand back and watch, not wanting to be in the way or at all presumptuous--especially in groups where I feel like an outsider or like I have little to contribute. You all immediately put me at ease and made me feel comfortable thus facilitating the learning process, and I can't thank you enough for that.  I envy the comraderie of the folks who live close enough to be a part of what you have there on a daily basis.
Often when a setting is so friendly and open, a compromise is made with the level of professionalism, but I have to say that I have never been to a more well organized or more well presented workshop than this one (and I have been to a lot of classes in a lot of fields). The schedule stuck to the itinerary without being too rigid and flowed from subject to subject seamlessly. While Anthony's breakdown of the moves and how to teach them was fantastic, the support staff was just as wonderful, moving quietly through the class with subtle suggestions, always helpful and seeming to pop up just when they were needed. And everyone was just infinitely patient, tirelessly fielding a dozen voices asking a dozen different questions. Just when I thought the system couldn't be more elegantly done, you finished out the day not with nice lazer printed 8.5x11" certificates but the beautiful folder and its certificate--like everything else, elegantly done above and beyond expectations.

Sincerely,
Jen B

Speaking of kettlebell training.  It’s a busy month here at Art of Strength.  We just wrapped up our latest Punch Gym Licensee Certification class and already we’re heading out for our first of five kettlebell workshops put on jointly with Perform Better.  This Saturday, August 16th, we’ll be in Boston showing trainers and the like everything they need to know to get proficient with kettlebell training.  Though not a certification class the workshops will take you through the 6 basic routines in kettlebell training making you more than capable of starting on your way to being kettlebell proficient.  The all day event is $449 for pre-registered participants and $499 at the door.  Sign up today or check out some of the other available dates and locations.

This week's AOS Inspiration comes from Ciara Perry.  Ciara's a member of Punch Kettlebell Gym in Seekonk, MA and after making some incredible progress with her weight loss we asked her to send in her story for our inspiration page.  Here's Ciara's inspiring story:

My Name is Ciara Perry from Seekonk, Ma, and at my heaviest I was 367 pounds and only 21 years old.
Struggling with my weight my entire life I have been an active person but eating habits turned sour after graduating high school.  Starting college with a heavy work load I simply gave up and ballooned to 367 pounds. I had no medical issues but as the weight was put on my knees were hurting so bad and walking up the stairs was an issue and I couldn't even sit in the desks at college I had to ask for a table in order to sit comfortable in class at the back of a 100 seat lecture room. That was it, I could not handle it any more and decided to Join a local Medical Program which combined 4 shakes 1 meal and weekly meetings. My mother started kettlebell in January and her trainer Staci was interested in meeting me. I started out with just half/hour training with Staci and was able to join circuit around April. Kettlebell has shredded by body and helped me lose, as of July, 102 pounds. I work the circuit 3 to 4 times a week combined with the Medical program the pounds are melting away - but more importantly I am living my life better and healthier. Punch gym has given me determination and confidence in my self and the idea of reaching my goals. In a month or two I will be getting the Lap Band surgery and will be unable to participate in Circuit for a few months while recovering but I have full intention of coming back better than ever. Thank you Staci and Anthony for you help and also for kicking my butt ever circuit.

Ciara
