By popular demand we’re announcing the sale of Anthony DiLuglio Special Edition kettlebells.  What was first done out of necessity is now being done as an artistic expression.  Anthony has hand painted and signed a limited amount of steel kettlebells for your collection.  Originally Anthony would paint kettlebells as a means to make them appealing to his clients, many of them finding the cold black steel to be unwelcoming.  Now, with the ever booming popularity of kettlebells that necessity is outdate and these original hand painted kettlebells are now the most coveted in the business.  Starting today, we are now offering a new line of limited edition Anthony DiLuglio hand painted kettlebells, each one signed by Anthony himself.  These bells will make a perfect gift for the kettlebell enthusiast in your life or the perfect addition to your Art of Strength collection.  Kettlebells sizes range from 4kg - 24kg and are available on a first come first serve basis, each one hand painted by Anthony so there are no color requests available.

If you are interested in any one of these kettlebells please email Staci at staci@artofstrength.com, she’ll answer all questions including sizes available and pricing.

Recently NFL Total Access did a story on the Tennessee Titans and how they’re success (the only 8-0 team in the NFL) is directly related to the 14 week kettlebell training course they went through during pre-season and the incorporation of kettlebells into their regular training regimen.  What is notable and worth mentioning is that all the players and coaches agree that the benefit in kettlebell training lies in the education provided by Anthony and the Art of Strength and not the kettlebell itself.  The kettlebell is a tool, the way in which you’re taught how to use that tool is what’s important and ultimately the deciding factor in your success or failure.  Take a look at this week’s video where Anthony discusses the success of the Titans after returning from last week’s Monday Night game where he was “seated” sideline with the team.

Corrective Strategies Part V - Anatomy of the Turkish Get-up

I’m comfortable in saying that nearly all of you found significant value in our Corrective Strategies videos released a few months ago.  For those of you new to the site, Corrective Strategies was a breakdown of the Turkish Get-up into its key components and how you can use it as a screening process gauging ones movement range.  In Part V we discuss core training and how the Turkish Get-up can be used to measure the overall strength of someone’s core along with a series of exercises perfect for improving all around core strength.

Last week we sent out a story dealing with how many of us have found different meanings and importance in our kettlebell pendant.  Many of you responded with your own storey, telling us of the significance that you have found in your pendant and why it’s so central to you, your training and your life.  We’re including just a few for you to read and perhaps derive inspiration from, if you’ve found special meaning in your pendant let us know about it.  We’ll be happy to include it in our next Minute of Strength.

Hi people.

I love the idea of finding out how/wear kb enthusiasts wear their pendants.

Mine also are (I have 2) worn in places of special significance.

As people at Seekonk PUNCH know, I underwent major surgery on May 22 to remove two large tumors. Thankfully, the surgery went well, there was no cancer, and I am back at life, stronger than ever before.

It was, however, a frightening experience. Aside from a "stomach ache" sometimes, I had no symptoms of such a significant problem, and from diagnosis to surgery was only a few short weeks--no time to really adjust to the idea of what "might be." Of course, thoughts of my two teenage children were everpresent. Would I see my daughter off to college? Would I see my son perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade this year? Through those anxious days of not knowing--both prior to the surgery and every day since then--I wear my silver pendant along with my cherished sterling silver serenity prayer pendant (god, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference) on a heavy silver chain. The bronze pendant I wear on its original leather necklace. The AOS pendants remind me that I am strong, both inside and out, and can handle whatever life tosses my way. They were an important part of my recovery, and, as I mentioned, are with me each day.

I'd love to hear others' stories of strength and inspiration. This is a great idea!

See you soon.

Best,
Chris

Anthony,

I wear my kettlebell pendant as a reminder that a fit body is prepared for just about anything.

In January of 2008, I changed my exercise routines to follow the AOS philosophies
and exercises. My body fat was reduced significantly and my weight went from
194 to 171lbs. It was about that time that I picked up my kettlebell pendant. By mid year,
my fitness level was soaring. I was laid off from my office job of 15 years at the end of June.
I maintained my workout regimen to add some stability to my day. The only job I could find
was a warehouse job - very tough work. At age 45, I'm one of the best, fastest and most
driven employees in the company (my performance exceeds 90% of my peers).
I believe that I owe my ability to do this work to my physical conditioning with kettlebells.
I hope to get back to my chosen career, but, I now know that I can do what it takes to make it.

Sincerely
Tony B.

 Anthony,
Thank you so much for the kettlebell pendant.  I wear it with pride and when someone asks what that is on my neck I can tell them about kettlebells and the dvd!  I have now lost over 23 pounds, gone down 5 pants sizes,  and feel great!the great thing is I haven't dieted the entire time.  I owe it all to my kettlebell and your workout dvd!!!!!  I feel that I have my life back!
Every day more of my coworkers join us after work to work out to your dvd!!! It is great to see our numbers grow!!!
Thanks again!
Suzanne Prickett

One recent graduate of our program wrote in to tell us of an interesting event that happened to him shortly after his certification weekend, he writes:

Hey Guys.....
I just received the AOSX Blast from the Past workout. It’s awesome!!!
Ever since the AOS Essential Workshop in Aug, I have discovered a new passion in training for myself and for my clients. My status as trainer at the Sports Club LA NYC has become very popular. I have created a new buzz at the club and now Kettlebells are the feature exercise tool everyone wants to use.
I do have some people questioning me about kettlebell training (I bet you have as well) but if you ask them if they’ve ever tried KB's there answer is no.
I was training an athlete this past Saturday during a prime time hour at the club. While the athlete was performing the wonderful Snatch exercise with perfect form-driving with the hips, arm relaxed (taming the arc) swing, punching and locking the arm at top, and finishing with the arm retracted and depressed - A member (about 5'5" 150lbs-unfit, wearing a wrist brace and a wightlifting belt) decided to speak his mind and yell out "Your killing his back!! That's the worst exercise!! I'm a doctor" and walks away with frustration to a Smith machine to do some squats.
I did not pay any attention to this absurd outburst -i was more focused on my client’s performance . My client loves doing snatches and never complains of any back pain working with KB's.
It just goes to show you that some Dr's have no knowledge in functional training. They’d rather prescribe medication and hammer strength machine exercises to improve someone’s lifestyle- it’s so ignorant.
This story is probably not new to you. But I must say that it felt great hearing that from a Dr. I'm 100% more confident improving someone’s lifestyle and athletic performance.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
