This week’s workout is an elaboration on something we brought you a few issues ago, that being the Outlaw Ropes routines.  Today we’re focusing on the added benefits that the ropes have on your pull-up routines.  Feel your forearms burn and your grip strain as you turn your normal pull-ups into forearm blasting pull-ups.  Take a look at the videos below to see how it’s done…and when you're done head over the AOS store to purchase your new Outlaw Ropes today!

You’ve all heard his music, he’s kept you pumped and motivated through some of the toughest workouts on the planet, now, meet the man behind the beats.  Today, AOS is proud to introduce Rod Strong, as he talks about his latest release...Casual.

This week’s product of choice is the new Art of Strength Kettlebell Essentials Poster.  The Art of Strength Kettlebell Essentials Poster has been painstakingly designed to capture all the nuances of the essential kettlebell routines. Designed by the AOS design department under the watchful supervision of Anthony Diluglio himself, each layout has been scrutinized and analyzed to ensure each frame captures exactly what is necessary to perform the routines safely and efficiently.  Beneath each frame is a caption describing exactly what's going on at that phase of the routine.  Used as reference in all our gyms, the Art of Strength Kettlebell Essentials Poster is an integral part of anyone’s kettlebell training, weather it be at home or at a gym.

Each poster outlines the following routines:
  •     Swing
  •     One Arm Swing
  •     Clean
  •     Clean and Press
  •     High Pull
  •     Snatch
  •     Figure 8 to a Hold
  •     Windmill
  •     Two Handed Front Squat
  •     Single Handed Front Squat
  •     Sumo Squat
  •     Turkish Get-Up

The poster, measuring 28"x22", is printed in full color on heavy 80 pound cover stock and finished with a clear coat layer designed to lessen the damage from scratches, tears and harmful UV rays.  Each poster arrives pre-drilled in each corner for easy hanging.

Some information regarding the new AOS Database…
Think of the database as your own personal web site within the Art of Strength site.  It’s yours, all yours, to do whatever you like with.  Add pictures, add video,  add all your contact info, your personal feelings on fitness, your life mantra – whatever you feel is necessary to become as successful as you possibly can.  Having your own webpage on the number one Google ranked Kettlebell Gym isn’t the only thing you’ll get, additionally, you’ll be a part of the AOS affiliate program where you’ll be paid a percentage of every product we sell generated through your site.

For RKC and AKC certified trainers there will be a small monthly investment of $100 (we will wave this fee for AOS certified trainers). Just the pick-up of one additional client through our website will more than make up for this monthly investment.

By having this database open to all branches of kettlebell fitness we are creating what could be the largest kettlebell database on the internet.  This database will become a community of kettlebell enthusiasts and trainers, a melting pot of everything kettlebell; ideas, practices, and lifestyles.  It’ll be a place where you all can meet, trade ideas, and share new techniques with each other.

Become a part of The Art of Strength community, be an affiliate, join our database and enjoy all the rewards that you deserve.

As an added bonus, we will only be allowing one instructor per zip code so get added today!

To be a part of our database contact Dennis at dennis@artofstrength.com with all your information (pictures, bio, certifications, contact info, personal feelings on fitness, etc. etc.)

Here's what some of our customers are saying:

"As a deployed soldier in Iraq, I have run the gamut of exercise programs. This may very well be the best! The workouts are brief, which is important when time is limited. They are intense. The exercises are adequately explained in the video portion. Yet another hit from Mr. DiLuglio."
Bobby Matthews (Camp Slayer , Iraq)

"I just finished my first work out with the new AOS Smokin Ladders and I have to say I'm "Smoked". Gee Whiz, it did not seem to be that hard at first glance, but I had to drop the weight to get through it (or should I say 1/2 of it). Another top notch work out and a great training concept. I can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve to add to this in the future."
P. Gilliland (Columbus, United States)

"Anthony, You always deliver, I am always asking myself what should I try today, what are they doing at Punch, well this product helps answer my questions all I can say is keep them coming I love this stuff!"
Gary Gant (Victorville, California, United States)

Our AOS inspiration comes to us from Dan Carter.  Dan wrote in to tell us about his new found ability to do rock bottom squats in spite of  recent knee surgery.  He writes:

I am a 50 y/o active guy. I participate in martial arts (3rd Dan Hapkido), and have worked out in some fashion for the past 20 years.  However, my workouts really only became efficient and effective when I stumbled upon the kettlebell philosophy/functional strength.  I got help from publications by Mike Mahler, Ross Enamait, Pavel and Josh Henkin.  I was making good progress and having great fun.  Yet when I stumbled upon your website and resources, it all just seemed to click for me.  You are the best teacher and motivator I have found, and your staff does great work.  Congratulations on a super job.  And it is amazing how just one seemingly little thing, like pulling with the whole body on a squat, can make a huge difference.  That is where you excel above the rest.... clear explanation of the critical details.

One other fact is that I have had arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn medial meniscus on both knees in the past four years.  I think the injuries were sustained in martial arts training. Even after the surgery, I never could sit comfortably in the traditional meditation position of sitting on folded legs beneath me. I always avoid squatting below parallel based on advise about knee care (faulty advise as it turns out).  However, as I read more about the kettlebell philosophy, I decided to give rock bottom squats a try despite "medical" advise not to squat that low.  Even though it took me a while to get my body in that position, I never had any pain.  In fact last night in Hapkido class, I noticed that I was sitting flush on my folded legs beneath me, back straight, no pain.

-Thanks again.
Dan Carter
