For about 6 months now, we've been adding new and exciting routines to our daily circuits in an effort to keep things fresh and constantly challenging for our members.  Today, we'll be showing you a video clip of just a small portion of some of our newest routines.  Typically we use a set-up of 12-16 stations with each participant spending 60 seconds at each station performing that routine before moving onto the next exercise.  Each round gets repeated twice and with just 15 seconds break between stations and the 5 minute snatch session between rounds it makes for a grueling 45 minutes.

Here is just a sample of what one might look like:

By popular demand we’re proud to announce the next AOS essentials clinic for 2008.  Run by Anthony Diluglio at Punch Kettlebell Gym Providence on April 5, 2008, this event promises to be an equal follow-up to the latest Providence clinic.  Having limited the class to only 12 students will allow for a tremendous amount of one-on-one time with one of the best and most sought after kettlebell instructors in the World.

Along with Anthony you’ll have access to some of Punch Kettlebell Gym’s best and brightest trainers as they walk around assisting you throughout the day.  Talk to the experts like Dr. Ron as he visits to answer your questions on kettlebells and rehab.

No more overcrowded classes, no more getting lost in the crowd; learn from the best in an intimate one-on-one setting.

What you can expect:

On February 9th we welcomed 10 participants for 2008’s first AOS Essentials Clinic.  The events kicked off the night before at Cattails Restaurant in East Providence for a meet and greet dinner desert/impromptu birthday party for Anthony’s wife Deb.  The actual clinic started the morning after at Punch Providence where the participants took part in a closed door all day event of kettlebell essentials and Punch circuits.  The day also included demonstrations by Dr. Ron and his use of kettlebells as a therapeutic approach to treating his patients, as well as lectures given by 3 of Anthony’s clients, who, after doctors and physical therapists had given up hope, gained their lives back through Anthony’s training.

Joining Anthony for the day were 10 of his trainers, who paired up with each one of the participants allowing them the luxury of their very own AOS certified trainer throughout the day assuring that at no time would they fall behind.

Here is what one participant had to say:

Anthony,
I just wanted to thank you for everything.  This past weekend changed my life.  I know that seems a bit dramatic, but I came away from the workshop renewed and with a different perspective on training, fitness, and life.  I am truly flattered and grateful for your invitation to come back on April 5th.  I look forward to working with you, learning from you, and becoming a part of the Punch team.
Thanks again.

Some information regarding the new AOS Database…
Think of the database as your own personal web site within the Art of Strength site.  It’s yours, all yours, to do whatever you like with.  Add pictures, add video,  add all your contact info, your personal feelings on fitness, your life mantra – whatever you feel is necessary to become as successful as you possibly can.  Having your own webpage on the number one Google ranked Kettlebell Gym isn’t the only thing you’ll get, additionally, you’ll be a part of the AOS affiliate program where you’ll be paid a percentage of every product we sell generated through your site.

For RKC and AKC certified trainers there will be a small monthly investment of $100 (we will wave this fee for AOS certified trainers). Just the pick-up of one additional client through our website will more than make up for this monthly investment.

By having this database open to all branches of kettlebell fitness we are creating what could be the largest kettlebell database on the internet.  This database will become a community of kettlebell enthusiasts and trainers, a melting pot of everything kettlebell; ideas, practices, and lifestyles.  It’ll be a place where you all can meet, trade ideas, and share new techniques with each other.

Become a part of The Art of Strength community, be an affiliate, join our database and enjoy all the rewards that you deserve.

As an added bonus, we will only be allowing one instructor per zip code so get added today!

To be a part of our database contact Dennis at dennis@artofstrength.com with all your information (pictures, bio, certifications, contact info, personal feelings on fitness, etc. etc.)

Here's what some of our customers are saying:

"As a deployed soldier in Iraq, I have run the gamut of exercise programs. This may very well be the best! The workouts are brief, which is important when time is limited. They are intense. The exercises are adequately explained in the video portion. Yet another hit from Mr. DiLuglio."
Bobby Matthews (Camp Slayer , Iraq)

"I just finished my first work out with the new AOS Smokin Ladders and I have to say I'm "Smoked". Gee Whiz, it did not seem to be that hard at first glance, but I had to drop the weight to get through it (or should I say 1/2 of it). Another top notch work out and a great training concept. I can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve to add to this in the future."
P. Gilliland (Columbus, United States)

"Anthony, You always deliver, I am always asking myself what should I try today, what are they doing at Punch, well this product helps answer my questions all I can say is keep them coming I love this stuff!"
Gary Gant (Victorville, California, United States)

This issue of the Minute of Strength brings us the inspirational story of Heidi Janes, one of Punch Gym Providence’s biggest success stories.  Heidi, a slender size 4, 51 year old mother of 3 is one of our most energetic and devoted family members.  However, this wasn’t always the case.  If you were here to see Heidi when she first joined our little family you would have seen a completely different person, both physically and mentally, all together.

It was about a year and a half ago when Heidi first walked in our doors, 25 pounds heavier and an uncomfortable size 10.   For Heidi, who had never had trouble with her weight in the past, the problems began around the age of 44 when her eating habits began catching up with her.  Heidi, an admitted chocolate and bread addict enjoyed her share of treats and snacks and as an avid baker and with 3 boys around the house she managed to keep the cookie jar filled with homemade goodies.

Soon after returning from a family vacation she was alarmed to see photos of herself revealing that she was no longer that fit individual she had always thought herself as being.  She realized that her active lifestyle was no longer enough to handle her poor eating habits and quickly set out to change her lifestyle before the damage went on too far.  “Initially I dealt with my shape by dieting.  I altered my eating habits, cutting out most carbs and eliminating my six-cookie-a-day habit.  I also tried to control the size of my portions and to make sure I was eating protein at each meal of the day.  Those changes took care of 25 pounds.”

Despite this dramatic change she still felt as if she needed to do more to improve her shape and lack of overall tone.  So, a year and a half ago she walked into Punch and tirelessly worked at reaching her goals.  She started off with private sessions and now mixes it up with classes 3 times a week.  For those of you who have seen Heidi around the gym you’ll know that her hard work has paid off, as she’s lost an additional 20 pounds and achieved that toned body she’s been searching for.  But perhaps the most striking change has nothing to do with her physical appearance at all but more so with her mental frame of mind…she has become much confident with herself becoming an inspiration to those around her especially to those that know how far she has come.

Heidi says she still watches her eating habits but now it’s about the quality of food and what will help fuel her body to perform better during her daily routines…especially when those routines involve a Punch circuit.

We can all agree that losing even a little bit of weight is a big deal, never mind 45 pounds all while being a mom with 3 teenage boys and a husband and everything that that entails.  To see Heidi at the gym you’d think she were an old pro at this, she’s one of the most energetic, enthusiastic and fit member of the bunch; a far cry from where she started.  Heidi is truly an inspiration.
