AOS Evolves
Finding our little internet corner of strength can be a little tricky. When we started this site, the ".com" web address was already taken... so we settled for a ".net" address. We've found that people habitually type ".com" after any web address if going strictly from memory... after hearing, "hey... your website is down!!" a couple hundred times from such lost souls, we set out to do something about it.
After some research, we were amazed to discover that our first choice website name was actually owned by a fellow kettlebell enthusiast! Tom Grow is the man behind www.kettlebell.com and graciously agreed to transfer ownership of www.artofstrength.com to us. His website has been stagnent for a few years, but he recently revamped it and is adding new articles every day. Check it out!
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We will soon change our contact email address to mos@artofstrength.com. The next issue (#19) of the Minute of Strength will be sent from this new email address. You need to whitelist this address (or tag it as a "known" or "approved" sender) in your email system to ensure that our newsletters continue to reach you... and not your junk email trap! Do it now.
Thanks again, Mr. Grow. We really appreciate it.

Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale Gold 2001
Growing up as an Italian American, I always remember a bottle of Chianti on my grandmother’s dinner table. Many of you may have seen this Italian classic bottle wrapped in a rattan basket. This big full bodied classic can stand alone or accompany a hearty, robust meal. I enjoy it with most meat and game dishes. Now that the weather is getting cold on the East coast it’s time to break out such big reds. I recommend the Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale Gold 2001. As the name implies, it's a true classic.
My favorite pairing is with Pasta Arrabiatta topped with shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. Let’s not forget a crusty loaf of Italian bread. If you are worried about the carbs...Don't be! Just do the snatch test at the end of AOS: Newport. That should set you straight. Like I tell all my clients, "Work hard, play hard." Pick up a bottle or two in the next couple weeks… and watch for my Pasta Arrabiatta recipe in the next Minute of Style!
More reviews for this fine Chianti:
The Wine Advocate
“I prefer the 2001 Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale Oro with the gold label, however, very elegant in its aromas and flavors of cranberries and raspberries, tobacco, and violets, vigorous and sustained on the mid-palate and finish and with tasty, textured tannins on the close. It should continue to drink well for another dozen years.”
Score: 92. -Daniel Thomases, April 2006.
The Wine Spectator
“This shows a raisiny tar character with hints of brown sugar. Full-bodied and very rich, with velvety tannins. This will improve with age. Drink now. 50,000 cases made.”
Score: 90. -James Suckling, October 31, 2005.
